BLESSINGS FOR WHOM?

Early morning time as it is with the birds chirping, the street dogs lazily getting up for a long next day of their lives, people enjoying their morning walks, shops slowly opening up, and I also on my routine of exercise happen to witness a scene which raised many questions in my mind.

In one of the Indian religions, there is a custom of becoming a monk, wherein the believer decides to renounce all the worldly pleasures and live rest of the life in service to God.  They believe in minimalism.  They believe in nonviolence to the extent that they will not wear footwear in the feet with the fear of harming little insects and creatures though unknowingly.  A custom that will require patience, determination and infinite self control.  They usually carry many of their belongings along when they travel from one place to another including a wheelchair that may be required depending on their health conditions.

So today, I observed that there is a man who follows this monk probably at the monk's service carrying the belongings and wheelchair behind as the monk walks ahead to the destination.

The monk is on the path of service which is indeed a blessed virtue.  However, this poor man who follows the great monk and is serving the server of God is he not to be blessed too!!!

I wondered would he not receive few droplets of the shower of blessings that shall be received by the monk as the monk is on his/her path of duty and decision and this humble partner is on the path of service to the person who has decided to serve the Almighty.
